Privacy Policy — Load/Ready
Last updated: 27 September 2026
Load/Ready is a personal training-readiness app. It reads your Apple Health data and shows you your own patterns. This policy describes exactly what the app does with your information.
The short version: there is no Load/Ready server. No account, no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party SDKs. Nothing is sent to the developer. Your data stays on your device; the only thing that leaves it is an approximate location and time sent to Apple Weather for outdoor workouts, described below.
What the app reads
From Apple Health. With your permission, Load/Ready reads: sleep and sleep stages, heart-rate variability (HRV), resting and overnight heart rate, workouts and their heart-rate series, workout routes, active and basal energy, steps, exercise minutes, VO₂max, respiratory rate, blood oxygen, wrist temperature, body mass and body composition, and dietary energy and macronutrients.
What the app writes
Load/Ready writes to Apple Health only the workouts you record in it — in the Apple Watch app, or a session recorded on the phone from connected gym equipment. It never modifies or deletes anything written by any other app or device.
A recorded session writes: the workout itself, its heart-rate samples, active energy, the distance for that activity (walking/running, cycling or rowing), the GPS route for an outdoor workout, power, cadence and speed where a sensor or machine reported them, flights climbed, and the 1–10 effort rating if you give one. Nothing is written for a workout you did not record in Load/Ready.
Each of those is a separate permission you grant or refuse individually in the Health app, and the app works with whatever you allow — refuse the route permission and the workout still records, without a map.
From Bluetooth accessories. If you connect a heart-rate strap or a piece of FTMS-compatible gym equipment, the app reads what that device broadcasts during a session — heart rate, beat-to-beat (RR) intervals, power, cadence, speed, distance and incline.
From you. Your morning sleep rating, pre-workout readiness ratings, day tags (for example "alcohol", "travel", "poor sleep"), effort ratings for individual workouts, and your settings — heart-rate zones, goals, profile.
Where the data lives
On your device. All Apple Health readings, the daily series built from them, and every calculation stay on the device. Nothing about your Health data is transmitted to us, because there is no "us" to transmit it to.
Not in iCloud. The app does not sync or store anything in iCloud. What you add in Load/Ready — your ratings, day tags, effort ratings, settings, and the sessions you record in it — lives only on this device.
In a backup file, if you make one. Settings → Backup saves that data to a file wherever you choose, and restores from it on a new phone or after reinstalling. The file holds personal health information and is not encrypted, so keep it somewhere private. The app never sends it anywhere; where it goes is your choice. It never contains your purchase, which comes back from the App Store.
Apple Weather, for outdoor workouts. To account for heat on an outdoor session, the app asks Apple's WeatherKit service for the conditions at the time of the workout, using the start of its route rounded to about 1 km. Apple handles that request under its own privacy policy; it is not linked to you by the app and nothing else about the workout is sent. Indoor sessions and workouts without a route send nothing.
What the app never does
No user accounts, sign-up or login.
No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting or tracking of any kind.
No advertising, and no use of health or fitness data for marketing or data mining.
No third-party SDKs. The app has no external dependencies.
No network connections to the developer or to any third party. The app's only requests go to Apple: the weather lookup above, and the map tiles Apple Maps draws under a workout route. The research citations you tap in "The Science" open in your browser.
No selling or sharing of your data. There is no recipient to share it with.
Your control
Health permissions: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Load/Ready. You can revoke any category at any time; the app degrades to "not enough data" states rather than failing.
Deleting the app removes all of its data. Save a backup first if you want to keep it.
Backup files are yours: delete them wherever you saved them.
Children
Load/Ready is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their information.
