Load/Ready — Support

Please include your iOS version, iPhone model, and whether you use an Apple Watch — most issues come down to which data a particular setup actually records.
Common questions
Why does a number say "not enough history"?
Every score in Load/Ready is relative to your own baseline, not a population target: the 42 days before today. Each part of a score needs at least 7 of those days with a reading before it counts, and the load ratio needs about four weeks of training. Rather than show you a confident number built on four days, the app says so.
Why is my recovery score blank until I rate my sleep?
The morning check-in is deliberately taken before you see the objective score, so your rating is your own read rather than a reaction to a number. Submit the rating and the score appears.
Why is time-to-fall-asleep sometimes "not recorded"?
It can only be measured when your tracker logs getting into bed before you fall asleep. Without a Sleep Focus schedule, many setups open the in-bed record at the moment sleep is detected, which would make it look like you fell asleep in one minute. Load/Ready withholds the number rather than report the artefact.
HRV looks different from another app.
On iOS, Apple Health records HRV as SDNN. Different apps use different windows (all-day, asleep, deep). You can choose yours in Settings → Recovery model. Everything is baseline-relative, so the window matters more for comparisons between apps than for your own trend.
My strength sessions barely register as load.
Training load is heart-rate-driven (TRIMP), which under-counts heavy lifting. Turn on effort ratings in Settings → Training load and a session's rating can raise the day's load above the raw heart-rate figure.
Does it need an Apple Watch?
Not the app itself — but sleep, HRV and workout heart rate have to come from some wearable that writes them to Apple Health, whether that's an Apple Watch, an Oura ring or another tracker. A Bluetooth chest strap covers workout heart rate directly and unlocks the beat-to-beat features an optical sensor cannot.
Does the app write to Apple Health?
Only the workouts you record in it — on Apple Watch, or on iPhone with a heart-rate strap or gym machine — and, if you trim one of those, its trimmed copy. It never changes anything written by another app or device.
How do I move my data to a new phone?
Apple Health moves itself. For what you've added in Load/Ready — check-ins, tags, effort ratings, settings and sessions recorded in the app — use Settings → Backup → Save a backup, then Restore on the new phone. Load/Ready doesn't use iCloud, and there's no account.
Privacy
See the privacy policy. No account, no analytics, no third-party SDKs, nothing sent to the developer, and nothing stored in iCloud; your data stays on your device.
The methods
Every number traces back to your own data and an explainable calculation. The full write-up — plain language, the actual formulas, and the research each rests on — is inside the app: Settings → The Science.
